Laboratories:

The School Science laboratory provides the perfect setting for students, to develop confidence in their practical skills. All safety precautions are followed in our laboratories.

St Francis School has three well ventilated Science laboratories, one each for Chemistry, Physics, Biology.

Experiments play a pivotal role in science. One of the most important is to test theories taught in class and to provide a basis for scientific knowledge. Scientific facts may also be investigated because they look interesting.

Students get a hands-on learning experience by performing various experiments on their own, under supervision.

Students are able to use the models and understand different scientific theories and concepts.

The school Science laboratories provide the perfect setting for students to develop confidence in their practical skills. Our labs allow students to perform experiments, providing a space for theoretical learning, and demonstration.

Computer Laboratory:

In recent years a major trend has been witnessed in the growth of information technology. To keep pace with rapid growth, it is necessary to know the major activities going around the world. The Computer curriculum has been formed on the basis of ICSE Board Syllabus.

Classes I to III are taught about the basics of Computer and computer technology.

Classes IV to VIII follow a well graded technology curriculum. The technology curriculum is dealt thematically to enhance the understanding of the students. The themes are of academic relevance and are supported by interactive aids. These, along with the student are aimed at triggering Higher Order Thinking while giving room for creative expression in students as well.

Students submit the projects related to their curriculum at each level. This enhances confidence, enthusiasm and technical skills in them.

Classes IX and X need to follow the Council Syllabus choosing an optional subject in Group III of Syllabi. Computer Applications has been taught to such candidates. The Syllabus includes the study of Operating System, Internet, Computing and Ethics and MS-Office Applications and Java Programming with BlueJ Editor. This helps them develop their potential and practical computer skills.

Rules to be followed in the Laboratories :

  • The Laboratory is a place of learning and serious work. So silence must be maintained.
  • Dust being the greatest enemy of the Computer the students are requested to take off their footwear before entering the Computer Lab.
  • No food items or beverages are allowed in the laboratories.
  • The instruction of the concerned teachers must be followed intently.
  • The Computer as well as the laboratory equipment’s are valuables and damages done to either of them will lead to a compensation to be paid by the student concern.
  • Any sort of malfunctioning in Computer Lab should be reported to the concerned teacher immediately.
  • In science lab the students must follow the instructions of the teacher very carefully before the start of the experiment.
  • Reagents, equipment and samples should be handled with utmost care and under the guidance of the instructor.
  • When the teacher demonstrates the lab models or educational charts it must be followed by the students intensively for a better understanding of the topics.
